But what do you really need for the ultimate cycling holiday?

Holiday on two wheels

At Fjordcycling, we send you on a trip along or to the wonderful Sognefjord, on good hybrid bikes from Scott. We also arrange overnight stays, some dining, and luggage transport in complete packages that are tailored to your wishes and needs.

A little further down the page, we have suggestions for a smart package list, but first we have to brag a bit about the experience that lies ahead of you.

Norway's Treasury

The nature, tranquility and fun attractions along the way give the bike ride much of the little extra. We send you a small book with fun and exciting information about the attractions you pass on the trip, so you get to know a little about what you see along the way.

The most important thing you bring with you on your cycling holiday is your senses. The sound of silence and the view of the landscape is a strong experience, but here there are also many other treasures to take part in.

When you travel in Western Norway, you should first and foremost find out your sense of taste. We have long bright days and cool nights that give a long growing season where fruits and berries ripen slowly. This gives juicy ingredients with lots of flavor that pleases the palate, after a nice bike ride.

The animals that graze here benefit from the same qualities in the food, and this is one of the reasons why meat from Western Norway is particularly rich in taste.

We can offer a very special outdoor picnic lunch, with local food and drink.

Suggested packing list

When you get ready to go on a trip, there are some things you should pack with you:

  • Sunscreen
  • Bicycle goggles that protect against dust, wind, insects and rain
  • Plasters, abrasion plasters and mosquito spray
  • Helmets are required on our trips and you can borrow from us if you do not have your own.
  • Cycling gloves that protect your hands should you be unlucky enough to fall
  • Thin wool garments, because the weather changes quickly and wool is what regulates the temperature best
  • Light hiking clothes that do not take up much space
  • A thin hat to wear under the helmet
  • Headlamp for tunnels that do not have lighting

The well-preserved gem

Although the Sognefjord is Norway's most beautiful and the roads here are very suitable for cycling, this gem is a well-kept secret for many tourists. This means that the cycle paths have little traffic and you do not have to cycle in a queue from sight to sight.

If you want to feel the freedom, experience beautiful landscapes and enjoy good dining experiences in peace and quiet, we can help you get started.

We take you to the best of times cycling holiday in Norway.
