Arrival in Bergen
Beautiful Bergen offers exciting cobbled streets and alleys.
The famous harbour on Norway’s west coast is one of Northern Europe’s oldest port cities. Norway’s second largest city has many attractions, the most famous being Bryggen. The new fish market is covered and offers good local products and the best from the sea. Spend as many days as you like in Bergen.

Cycling in Bergen gives the opportunity to experience a lot in a short time. The attractions you pass are briefly presented in the information waiting for you in the hotel. Enjoy the day in Bergen by bike or on foot. Walking distance to the boat that takes you to the western islands before you reach the “king of the fjords” – Sognefjorden. Majestic mountains surrounding you must be experienced!

Arnafjord 52 km
At Neset – a very peaceful place at the end of the road
You cycle on small, peaceful roads to the hamlet Arnafjord. Spectacular waterfalls flowing down the mountainside, in spring and early summer there are countless. Enjoy your lunch on the unique pier before you cycle back. The small wooden memorial house is also worth a visit.
Balestrand 27 km
Mountains of Balestrand
The idyllic cultural trail is not long, but takes you to wonderful historical sites. Stop at the cheese bar to taste the famous cheese only made in Vik. You cycle along one of the most beautiful small fjords – you will discover why. As early as the 18th century, Sogn was known as a popular tourist destination in Europe and developed into a magnet for the national romantics painters. We recommend staying an extra night in Balestrand for a great hiking experience.

Remember to stop at the fantastic outdoor area along the fjord – it even has a covered fireplace with a view. A perfect place for a break – and a fjord bath. You continue on quiet roads, all the way along the fjord, and can admire the mountains and the picturesque farms and hamlets along the way. You turn around at a hidden gem!
Solvorn 44 km / 64 km
Along low-traffic roads you have time to enjoy the landscape.
Inner parts of the Sognefjord are waiting and you have two alternatives today, depending on how many kilometers you want to cycle. Sogn is the oldest fruit growing area in Norway, and cycling in spring is fantastic when all the fruit trees are in blossom. Make a stop at the regional center in Sogn before continuing to your next accommodation. Beautifully located and with local products served for dinner.
Skjolden 38 km
The fjord villages are alive all year round – Skjolden
Enjoy the idyllic village with apple trees and small, white wooden houses that were established when the fjord was the most important source of communication. Do not miss a visit to Urnes Stave Church, protected by UNESCO. In Skjolden you can have a refreshment on the terrace of the hotel or maybe a dip on the beach? Possible to add extra kilometers by cycling towards your hotel. We give you all the needed information.
Departure from the Sognefjord or extension
Departure from Sogndal or Leikanger to Bergen or Oslo – or to Flåm with the Flåm line. The trip can easily have several days in Bergen or by the fjord.

The cycling tour is about 260 km in total. Extra kilometers and uphills can easily be added. Example: The view on Gaularfjellet. Sogndalsdalen or to Veitastrond, were overnight in a beautiful cabin can be added.
